Journals are a great tool especially while traveling. It helps you remeber what each day was, how much you spent and on what and any acitivites you did. In 10years when you look back youll be able to triggers those memories with your journal. It has so many more benefits than just taking photographs.
A downside to the journal is having to think about what to write, espeically for kids. Here are some ideas to guide them through what to write about, or perhaps something new to answer each day.
Describe a moment from your travels that took your breath away.
Share a local recipe you discovered during your journey and recreate it in your journal.
Draw a map of the places you've visited and mark the most memorable ones with a short description.
Reflect on a conversation you had with a stranger while traveling and what you learned from it.
Write a letter to your future self about the adventures you hope to have on your next trip.
Create a collage of ticket stubs, postcards, and other keepsakes from your travels.
Imagine yourself as a local in one of the places you've visited - describe a typical day in your life there.
List three things you've learned from traveling and how they've changed your perspective.
Write a short story inspired by a landmark or monument you encountered during your journey.
Make a playlist of songs that remind you of specific moments or locations from your travels. Its a great idea to play the same song each day you wake up on holiday, then anytime you hear that song in your future (on the radio) youll be transported straight back to your holiday.
Dont forget to pack a small glue or cellotape so you can add keepsakes into your journal.
I hope this inspires you to buy that pretty journal!
