Cambodia itinerary for families

Here is a week-long travel plan for a family vacation in Cambodia, emphasizing cultural immersion, thrilling activities, and leisure. We like to travel with our kids, I know thats not everyones cup of tea but we enjoy showing the kids what the world is like and how it can be so different to how they live but also the same.

Getting there:

Cheapest from Australia would be Airasia. The hub for Airasia is Kuala Lumpar, so most flights coming in from around the world will stop in Kuala Lumpar (Or singapore). Either option is a good airport and can be a fun 2 night stopover. Your other option is to pay a little more and you will be able to fly direct, those airlines would be Sinapore Air or Malaysia Airlines. Both are great, both usually include seat choices, baggage and food, unlike Airasia where you will pay for each. As we are budget travels, wanting our dollars to stretch as far as possible then Im always looking for the best deals.

The differnece in price between the cheapest airline to fastest airline is double the price. (Well this would depned on time of year, origin of flight etc but the average)

If you use a website like Skyscanner, you an get price alerts setup. Usually during the week its cheaper to book and usually during the day. Setting up an alert might help get a cheaper deal.

Activities for kids:

Depending if you want to make it educational while you are there but we like to take a A4 drawing diary. Its usually thicker pages, they are just clear white pages and usually have about 80 pages in each book. Before we head to a country i like to get the kids to design a front page for their diary on the country, maybe print out the flag, money, what its known for etc. Then i print out a mock up itinerary, and a map of the world, they can color in the country we are going to on the map, they can draw a line for the plane route etc.

Then while we are away they can write a diary, or what they did that day, or stick in a momento like bus tickets, postcards etc. i always leave room on each page before starting another page for the next day, that blank page we will stick photographs into it once we get back home and print them out.

Sometime you can find word searches online to print, colouring pages for the country or animals the country has, sudoko etc just something to do if they get bored.
